new year, etc

New year is here. While number systems and conventions like this are manufactured I do find a certain value in checking in/refreshing on a cyclical basis. 2021 was very good for me on a couple different fronts despite the chaos and inferno in the world at large. I aim to take this goodness and expand it further this year. 

M has been away a lot the past few weeks (scheduled back today) -  first at a residency for 12 days in early december and then home for 11 days across xmas and then for 10 days to attend low-residency graduate school (or put another way, for 22 of the last 33 days) That’s afforded me some time to watch some films (during the day mostly when the kids were at camp or school).
