50 SONGS - written during quarantine, March/April/May of 2020, the first months of Covid-19 isolation. My goal was to do a song a day but some days got away from me and it took longer. Many of these are loose as hell, written on the spot or near the spot. I had no agenda content wise, just following what held my attention that day. common themes: unrequited affection, aging, social media, idiocy, cats.

THE TAFFY MCKITTRICK SONGBOOK - Circa 2009 I thought it would be funny (though I was advised it wasn’t) to create a character named Taffy McKittrick, a self-consumed singer/songwriter who generated endless rivers of dubious content but was also very high on his own supply. I ended this project after Margaret (my artistic steward) noted that all the energy I was using toward Taffy was detracting/excusing me from directing my own scripts. She was right (although looking back the possibility that she was looking for any way to stop having to listen to these songs may have been a contributor to her counsel here.)
